Hello, world! It’s been a while, and a lot has happened. In the past month, I moved in with D, his parents moved away from the DMV, and now…Darren and I are excited to announce that we will be welcoming a new member to our family!

Haha, got you! Nope, not preggers. We’re getting a puppy! Nugget, as of later tonight, is our 12 week old Pomshi (Pomeranian + Shiba Inu). He’s coming from a friend whose dogs had puppies- initially she had kept this little man for her nephew. Turns out the nephew is allergic to dogs (yikes) and our other friends W. & E. suggested us as potential parents. It works out well because W. and E. adopted Nugget’s sister Nala, who is the fluffiest, sweetest, furball. Happy endings all around.
While I’ve helped raise my family’s Pomeranian, Pickle, neither D nor I have had the sole responsibility of raising a living creature- unless you count a handful of beta fish here and there. The past 2 weeks have been a frenzy of researching dog psychology, obedience school, and dog products. We’ll see if the preparation pays off tonight when we finally bring Nugget home- check back next week for more pictures, or follow us on Instagram!
Oh- yes, I probably do anticipate becoming a crazy pet owner. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
